In Aid of the Alzheimer’s Society, Fight for Sight & Slide Away

This June a team of six cyclist will cycle from Aylesham to Krakow Poland, then three of the riders will continue to Japan via Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, China and finally Japan. For family & personal reasons the event is in aid of three charities with donations split evenly between them, you can donate now. Our target is £6000:


Alzheimer’s Society: a care and research charity for people with dementia and their careers.
Fight for Sight: our mission is to stop sight loss in its tracks. By funding pioneering eye research, we’re creating a future everyone can see.
Slide Away: offers support to children and young people in Kent who have been bereaved of a family member or friend.


The ride to Krakow of approximately 1000 miles will take 8 days to complete, Carl Moses, Dave Austen, Cathal Bartello, Linford House, Keith House and Dale House, will start on 12th June and arrive in Krakow, Poland on 20th June, averaging over 100 miles a day, assisted by Roger Hadfield in the support van.


Then Linford House, Keith House and Dale House will cycle on to Shanghai, China, catch a ferry to Osaka, Japan, before finally getting to watch a Rugby World Cup game: a total distance of about 8100 miles.


The team are no strangers to the rigours of long distance cycling; this year will be their eighth major challenge since 2012. Previous tours having been to Scotland, Spain, Croatia, Switzerland, Italy, Denmark and Hungary.


The team have called themselves the bikerugbyjapan nothing can go wrong team and are being supported by R&B Air Conditioning Services, D A Tree Surgeons, East Kent Foods and McGinley Support Services.
