These pages were made BEFORE the trip got underway.
You should be aware that some of the ROUTE pages are not that close to the actual route taken. In Ukraine for example the team had to take a massive tour northwards to avoid the Donbar conflict region. This affected the route through Russian and Kazakhstan.
In China the team were advised to take a more southerly route than planned as the region of Xinjiang is heavily policed.
No advance plans for Japan were made anyway.
